Music theory is a branch of science that explains the elements of music. This branch of science includes the development and application of methods for analyzing and composing music, and the relationship between music and nature music.
The things learned in music theory include for example voice, tone, notation, rhythm, melody, Kontrapun music, harmony, form of music, song Creating theory, etc..
Voice
The theory explains how the sound of music notated or written, and how the sound captured in the mind of the listener. In music, the sound waves are not usually discussed in the wavelength and period, but in frequency. Basic aspects of sound in music is usually described in tuning (UK: pitch, ie pitch), duration (how long a sound), intensity, and timbre (color noise).
Beat
The sound can be divided into a high tone has a certain tone or tuning by frequency or by a relatively high range of the tone of pitch standards. Tuning differences between the two tones is called the interval. The tone can be arranged in scales different. Scales is the most common major scales, minor scales, and pentatonic. The basic tone of a musical work to determine the frequency of each tone in these works.
Rhythm
Rhythm is the sound settings in time. Bar is a division of the beats in time. A time signature indicates the number of beats in a bar and note which is calculated and considered as a knock. Certain tones can diaksentuasi by giving pressure (and the distinction duration).
Notation
Musical notation is a written description of the music. In block notation, described pitch vertically while the time (rhythm) is depicted horizontally. Both these elements form the staves, in addition to clues basic tone, tempo, dynamics, and so on.
Melodi
The melody is a series of tones in time. The circuit can be sounded alone, without accompaniment, or can be part of a series of chords in time (usually a series of high tones in these chords).
Harmoni
Harmony in general can be said as the event two or more different tones sounded the same height, although the harmony can also occur if the notes are sounded in sequence (as in the arpeggio). Harmony consists of three or more tones sounded simultaneously are called chords.
